Apple's Slide to Unlock Patent - Claim 1

Claim 1 of the patent explicitly describes what method the patent is claiming, which is essentially a way to do a sliding motion on a touch screen device to unlock the device. 

This method detects contact with the first predefined area (shown in image below)
It also describes a continuously maintained contact with the unlock image (shown below).
The actual unlocking happens if the motion continues completely from the first predefined location to the predefined unlock location (shown below).
In summary, the claim describes a way to go unlock a device by showing continued contact from one point to another, essentially a sliding mechanism on a touch screen device.

    1. Hey Anais, this is nice, positive feedback. I like how you pointed out what you specifically liked. Generally, it's good to suggest something the author could do better, but I agree that this post is great- there's not much to improve!
